Raleigh’s Figulina is offering a special Abruzzo wine dinner at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 19. This dinner is inspired by the rugged beauty and deep culinary traditions of Abruzzo, nestled between the Apennine mountains and the Adriatic coast. It’s a region known for bold, rustic cooking and expressive wines.
The evening will start with a mini-cocktail hour and light bite on the patio followed by a seated dinner featuring Figulina’s take on traditional dishes like:
-Crostini alla chietina (egg-fried toast with anchovy and caper)
-Scrippelle in brodo (pecorino-stuffed crepes in warm chicken broth)
-Spaghetti alla chitarra con pallottine (square-cut pasta with tiny meatballs)
-Brodetto (layered coastal fish stew)
-Pizza Dolce Abruzzese (festive sponge, custard, and jam layer cake)
Each course will be paired with wines from Abruzzo. The price is $160 (before tax and gratuity). Earlier this year, Figulina was a semifinalist for Best New Restaurant from the James Beard Foundation. Make a reservation at https://figulinaraleigh.com/reservations
